These two sides are at opposite ends of the League Two table with Doncaster Rovers topping the league and Notts County still looking to make sure they survive.

Doncaster have not been having the best of times recently and have only won two of their last five games, however, it is of course worth mentioning that they have been unbeaten in those five. Donny have a four-point cushion between themselves and 2nd place whilst the gap between them and the play-offs is a huge 14 so automatic promotion now looks a certainty.

Darren Ferguson’s team have got themselves in this great position by scoring plenty of goals. They are currently the division’s top scorers with 68 goals in just 36 matches, although they are a bit open at the back with their record of 42 against even worse than a couple of teams in mid-table. However, they have kept two consecutive clean sheets which shows they can be defensively sound.

Unsurprisingly for a team top of the league, Donny have the best home record with 42 points taken from 18 at the Keepmoat Stadium. Furthermore, they have not lost a home match in the league this season, scoring in each of them.

Notts County have managed to pull themselves quite a way from relegation since the appointment of Kevin Nolan as manager and they are currently one of League Two’s form teams with 14 points from the last eight – more than Doncaster have taken. They are not mathematically safe from the drop just yet but their eight-point cushion looks like it should be enough.

Until Nolan’s arrival, the County defence had been absolutely abysmal and it is still the worst in the league with 62 goals conceded. However, the former Leyton Orient manager has got them more organised at the back and they have now kept two clean sheets in their last four games. The Magpies are not the best going forward so this more solid defence means they can now pick up a few points, despite a lack of goals.

County have actually been better on their travels than they have at Meadow Lane this season with 21 points taken from 17 – compared to 19 from 19 at home. Furthermore, they have won two of their last three away games so will feel confident going to the Keepmoat.

Unfortunately for them though, Doncaster could have too much quality. Ferguson’s men have been incredible at home and their forward-line could really put County to the sword, despite the latter’s recent clean sheet record. Having said that, it would not surprise me if the leaky Donny back-line conceded to this in form Magpies team and, therefore ‘Doncaster to Win & Over 2.5 Goals’ looks a good bet.
