This match-up in League Two is an all-promotion chasing affair as Doncaster Rovers host Luton Town at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Although Doncaster are currently top of England’s fourth tier, they have been on a pretty dodgy run recently with just two points taken from a possible nine in their last three league games. This means they are only three points clear at the top of the table having played a game more; however, their promotion charge does not look like being derailed any time soon as they are currently 11 points ahead of 4th place.

Goals are generally the order of the day when Doncaster play and it is no surprise that they are the league’s top scorers with an amazing 60 goals in just 31 matches – the joint-best in the entire Football League along with Championship side Newcastle United. However, as usually happens with a Darren Ferguson side, they leak goals at the back and they only have the ninth-best defensive record in the division.

Donny are unsurprisingly the best home team in League Two having taken 37 points from just 15 games, scoring an impressive 30 goals in the process and suffering no defeats.

Luton Town are also looking impressive in League Two this campaign and currently sit in 4th position, just three points off the automatic promotion spots after three consecutive league wins.

As opposed to Doncaster, The Hatters are a lot more conservative in their approach and focus primarily on their defence which is the second-best in League Two with an average of only 0.93 goals conceded per game. However, that is not to say that Luton are bad going forward and their 47 goals in 31 matches is highly respectable.

Nathan Jones’ men have been decent on their travels and have accumulated 24 points from 15 matches, conceding just 11 – the joint best record away from home in the division. Furthermore, after suffering a blip of back-to-back losses, Luton have not lost in their last three matches away from Kenilworth Road.

Usually you would back Doncaster at home, but Luton are capable of providing a stern test for anyone. Goals stand out here. ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ has landed in four of the last five Luton matches, while the same can be said about ‘Both Teams to Score’. With this in mind, a result neutral bet of ‘Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score’ at 5/4 is well worth a go. Ultimately, both teams are very capable going forward and we could see plenty of goal-mouth action in this one.
