Two teams who currently reside in the drop-zone go head-to-head on Tuesday night as Port Vale travel to face Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena.

The hosts are already dead and buried but Port Vale, having added crucial points to their tally in recent weeks, are on the verge of hauling themselves out of trouble. The visitors are now just two points from safety with two games in hand over the team directly above them.

Considering that Coventry have already been condemned to relegation, this is an excellent opportunity for Port Vale to put valuable points on the board. At the prices, the visitors are very much the team to be with here and backing them on the ‘Draw No Bet’ market is the best option.

Having won two of their last three fixtures, Port Vale have certainly turned a corner of late. Michael Brown’s men are now looking much more capable of winning games simply because they’re scoring a lot more goals. Goals, or more specifically a lack of, had been a big problem for the visitors; however, having scored in each of their last six, finding the net nine times in the process, this problem appears to have been addressed, and at a critically important time too.

This renewed confidence in front of goal, coupled with the fact that they’ve got a lot more to play for, should hold the visitors in good stead here against a Coventry side who simply want this season to be over once and for all.

In recent weeks, Coventry have certainly looked the part, unfortunately though, it’s the part of a team who’re already relegated. Even though there are still ten games to play, the Sky Blues have no chance of retaining their League One status and their rather lacklustre performances are showing that. Having failed to score in each of their last four, the hosts have offered next to nothing going forward but are still having trouble when it comes to keeping teams out – just one clean sheet in their last 22 league matches says it all really.

Of course the visitors are where they are in the table for a reason. Let’s face it, Port Vale certainly haven’t impressed this season, but they have looked a good bit better than Coventry, especially in recent weeks, so it is surprising that they are as big as they are in the betting.

With nothing left to fight for – not that they’ve put up much of a fight at any point during the season anyway – you’d have to question whether or not the hosts will really be up for this. In contrast, the visitors know that a win lifts them out of the relegation places and should be raring to go.

Port Vale come here off the back of a pleasing win last time out, are now scoring more goals and simply look a lot more likely to win than their hosts. All in all, the stage looks set for the visitors to gain a positive result.
