Having thumped Sevilla 4-1 last time out, Real Madrid travel to face Celta Vigo on Wednesday night for a match that will surely go a long way to deciding whether the La Liga title returns to the Spanish capital or not. If Zidane’s men secure victory in Vigo, everything is in their own hands; however, if they fail to take all three points away from Wednesday night’s game it could be a nail biting final day for the white half of Madrid.

Celta Vigo put up a noble effort at Old Trafford last week, but their efforts were in vein and, therefore, they have nothing left to play for this season. Célticos’ chances of European football next season rested solely on them winning the Europa League as they’ve dropped well down the table domestically and now sit in 13th, a massive 19 points shy of 6th place Bilbao. With no chance of either relegation or qualifying for Europe, this campaign is very much done and dusted as far as Celta Vigo are concerned and thus it’s hard to imagine them putting up too much of a fight here.

From a betting point of view, with the visitors looking in rampant mood of late, it’s very hard to fancy anything other than a convincing victory from Zidane’s men. The bet that stands out is ‘Real Madrid to Win Both Halves’.

Back in April, it appeared as though Madrid had the title all sewn up; however, their home defeat against bitter rivals Barcelona meant that things would likely go right down to the wire. With just one game remaining for everyone after this particular fixture, go down to the wire it will, but if they win this match, Los Blancos will already have one hand on the trophy ahead of their final match against Málaga.

Since that defeat against Barca, Madrid have bounced back in style, winning all four of their La Liga matches. What’s more, they’ve come out of the blocks fast in each of those, holding a half-time a lead in all four. During that time, Wednesday’s visitors have scored an impressive 16 goals. They may well have leaked four in the process, but at no point in recent weeks have they looked as though three points were not in the bag.

On the other hand, recent results have been very poor for Celta and it’s becoming more and more evident that they’re finished for the season. Eduardo Berizzo’s men have lost each of their last five league matches and have conceded a worrying 12 goals in doing so. What’s perhaps more alarming is the fact that they’ve scored just two of their own during this spell. In addition, the Celts have been trailing at half-time in each of their last three and have lost each of their last five second halves too. In truth, they look booked for more misery against a Real Madrid team who’re chasing the title.

In a game that means nothing to the hosts and everything to the visitors, backing Real to come out on top in both the first and the second half is the way to go.
