Buffalo Bills x Dallas Cowboys – Preview, Prediction and Betting Tips 17/12/2023
Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo team had a lot of expectations in the first match against the Jets and failed to deliver what was expected of them offensively. QB Josh Allen didn’t play well and had a lot of trouble finding WR Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis and company. The ground game did not work as usual and the team also had problems at times with the offensive line, which suffered a lot of pressure from the opponent.
The defense had a good game, but gave up a lot of long running plays, which made the Jets attack comfortable enough to be able to walk the field without putting too much strain on Zach Wilson’s arm, who replaced Aaron Rodgers, who was injured in the first game between them.
Dallas Cowboys
Dallas’ offense is guided by QB Dak Prescott who has been having some problems, especially in the last week. He has a good support team with RB Tony Pollard, WRs Ceedee Lamb and Michael Gallup, as well as rookie TE Luke Schoonmaker who is having a good debut season. The offensive line is competent, but it hasn’t been playing as well as it should in the team’s last games, which means that its QB has to move a lot in the pocket, taking away the accuracy of his passes.
The defense has been alternating between good and bad moments. It is focused on LB Micah Parsons, who is its best player, but it has DE DeMarcus Lawrence and CB Stephon Gilmore, who are very competent players and can help this unit.
Conclusion:
The Cowboys’ defense is excellent at creating pressure, but has difficulty shutting down opposing QBs aside from LB Micah Parsons. In games against Dallas, QB Josh Allen is averaging 57.8 rushing yards on 5.9 yards per carry, both above his career averages, and he has totaled 32 rushing yards in the only two games he hasn’t surpassed.
We saw this come to fruition in a “must-win” situation last week against the Philadelphia Eagles. Allen set new season records in designed rushes (4) and carries (5), and led the Bills in rushing yards (81) for just the third time all season. Against the Chiefs, the over was not surpassed by the kneel at the end of the game. With two weeks to prepare for another must-win game, Allen is expected to attack the vacant areas of this defense and rely on his legs for the second week in a row.
