Sheffield Wednesday surprised me in their last match against Brighton, they really took the game to Chris Hughton’s side and came out with a deserved 2-0 win. In fact, I nearly had Ross Wallace down as a goalscorer but c’est la vie…

Of course Brighton will be looking to be straight on the front foot in the return leg and I’m expecting an open game at the Amex Stadium. Brighton will have key defender Lewis Dunk back from suspension which is a massive boost for the Seagulls. He has been one of the best centre-backs in the league this season.

Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal is unlikely to change his team as they look to cement their place at Wembley.

Whilst it was a great victory for the Owls in the first leg, the cliché is that 2-0 is the most dangerous scoreline and Brighton will be confident if they can get an early goal. I’m not saying Hughton’s men will go through but I think they should beat Wednesday this evening, especially at home where they have been excellent in recent weeks.
