Brazil U-23 and Colombia U-23 will face each other on the night of this Friday, January 26, 2024, starting at 8 pm, in a game valid for the 3rd round of Group A of the South American Pre-Olympic.

Brazil U-23

Brazil’s under-23 team seeks to guarantee its qualification for the Paris Olympic Games and arrives as a big favorite to stand out among theoretically less expressive teams.

Furthermore, the team led by coach Ramon Menezes has the best of his Olympic generation, such as the young striker Endrick, aged 17, who plays for Palmeiras, but who has already been traded to Real Madrid.

Endrick was even the scorer of the Brazilian winning goal against Bolivia under-23 in the opening round of the green and yellow team, which did not perform well throughout the 90 minutes, but managed to at least pocket three important points for its campaign.

Much criticized for its performance well below expectations in its debut, the Canarian team will try to improve for this second duel, knowing that a new triumph will be enough to leave it at the top of the group and even closer to the Olympic place.

This is because the Brazilians currently occupy second place on the Group A leaderboard, with 3 points achieved so far, having only one less than Ecuador under-23, who have already played two games.

In their 5 most recent clashes, Brazil’s under-23 team recorded 4 wins, 1 draw and no defeats. During this period the team beat Mexico under-23, Honduras under-23, Bolivia under-23 and also Colombia under-23, in addition to drawing with Chile under-23.

Colombia U-23

On the other side is Colombia under-23, who played some friendly matches during their preparation for this important tournament and, in them, played great football, including crushing triumphs over Peru under-23 and Dominican Republic under-23.

However, their debut in this edition of the Pre-Olympic was a great disappointment for the Colombians, who faced Ecuador under-23 and came out on top amid an unrecognizable collective performance, losing 3-0 without offering much resistance to the negative result and, therefore, putting even more pressure on the team to win this Friday.

There were 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats in the last 5 games played officially, beating the Dominican Republic under-23 and Peru under-23, in addition to drawing with Peru under-23 and losing to Uruguay under-23 and also for Ecuador under-23.

Conclusion:

Therefore, despite not having played a brilliant match against the Bolivians, Brazil under-23s showed enough quality to win and have everything to stand out against the Colombians in this second round, considering that Colombia under-23 performed even worse in their debut.
