Two teams who play in the Championship division in England face off in this 1/16 round of the FA Cup. Homeside Barnsley who is 10th in the league qualified to this round after beating Tranmere 2-0. Norwich City on the other hand are the league leaders in the Championship division and they beat Coventry 2-0 on their way to face Barnsley.
Barnsley
The Tykes will face a much tougher opponent than they did in the last round. They lost to Norwich 3 weeks ago in the league. Barnsley hasn’t won in 3 matches in the league and didn’t score any goals in any of them. They conceded at least a goal in their last 5 matches and scored just 4 goals in them.
They haven’t beaten Norwich in 4 games with their last win against the Canaries dating back to 2016. Manager Valerien Ismael will rely heavily on his top scorer Cauley Woodrow to lead his attack and probably get a win.
Norwich
The Canaries are having a great season as they are on course to return to the Premier League if they continue with their current form. Norwich is unbeaten in 4 matches in the league and cup. They have shown a very good defensive display in their last 6 matches conceding just 3 goals in them and scoring 8 goals themselves.
Experienced goalkeeper Tim Krul is ruled out because of Coronavirus, while both Byram and Idah are likely to miss the game through injuries.
Verdict
Looking at the low scoring games that these both teams had lately, we think that will be the case again in this match
Verdict: Total match goal of under 2.5 goals
