Barcelona – Atletico Madrid. Konstantin Genich’s prediction
This is a game of the two Primera leaders. Both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have the same number of points and Barca have one game in hand.
Atletico lost at home to Celta Vigo in Copa del Rey and this was a sensation. Barcelona are now the obvious favourite in the Spanish Cup. But I don’t think that this failure will have some negative effects on Diego Simeone’s team. El Cholo can psych up the players for the upcoming game and this will cause some problems for Barcelona. The win or draw can be a possibility for Atletico. And I don’t expect a lot of goals in this game. Barcelona are not ideally in emotional form now, as we saw in matches against Athletic Bilbao and Malaga. Their results were ok, but the games itself lacked all the right emotions. The key figures for the upcoming game have to be Messi-Suarez-Neymar, and I think that we can bet on Barcelona’s highest scoring half – 2-nd half. Atletico Madrid will defend a lot and play with counter attacks. And the key timing for this game will be the last 30 minutes. So we go for Barca highest scoring half – 2-nd half at 2.25.
