These two sides have had rebuilding processes over the summer months as they both look to head towards the top of the table.

Their 1-0 loss on opening day against Sheffield Wednesday and then there 3-1 loss in the League Cup to Luton Town showed that there is no mercy given to a club of Aston Villa’s size in the lower leagues. Roberto Di Matteo’s side did however manage to secure a 3-0 win against Rotherham last time out.

Although there has already been quite a large turn over in the playing staff at Aston Villa, I feel that many players are still needed to be shown the exit door and replaced by players who are better suited to life in the Championship.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner has been given the task of creating a ‘Terriers Identity’ which he is gradually starting to implement with his high energy, pressing style – much like his mentor Jurgen Klopp has done at various clubs.

Wagner has signed a fair few players from the Bundesliga to improve on the last year’s leaky Terriers defence. Although they may not have kept a clean sheet so far, Huddersfield have had a fine start to the campaign, picking up maximum points from their two league games so far – one of those wins being away at recently-relegated Newcastle United.

With Aston Villa being at home, there is a lot of pressure on them to pick up results in front of an expectant crowd. On the opposite side, Huddersfield can go into the game with a bit more freedom.

The Terriers are on a great run of form at the moment and I would back them to win here at a very good value price of 9/4. Aston Villa may have won their last game convincingly, but it must be noted that it was against a Rotherham side who will no doubt be near the bottom of the league again this season.

If you are not so convinced that Huddersfield will do a job on Aston Villa and would prefer a more ‘neutral bet’, you can go with Both Teams to Score at 9/10. Both of these sides are good going forward but question marks remain over both defences.
