This is Andy Murray’s fourth participation in the Olympics. The Brit is the most successful player in the games winning three medals, two Gold medals in the men’s singles in the last two editions 2012 and 2016, and one silver medal in the mixed doubles in London 2012.

The former world number one in 2016, has a 12-1 win/loss record in the Olympics. That was five years ago though and much has changed with Murray during that time. He has fallen back to the world’s number 104 ranking and this year he has an 8-5 record and hasn’t played any tournament since losing in the third round of Wimbledon.

Aliassime is on a 10-4 win/loss record on hard courts. Much is expected from the young Canadian considering his recent exploits on the grass courts.

Aliassime’s best results of the year were in Halle where he reached the semi-final and lost to Hubert, having beaten Federer in the second round. In Wimbledon, and after a very good run through to the quarter-finals, he was eliminated by eventual finalist Berrettini. Andy Murray  vs Felix Auger-Aliassime Prediction

It is a very tough draw for Andy Murray as he starts his campaign of defending the title he won in the last two editions. Murray is not in the form he used to be after suffering injuries and missing much of the tour last couple o years.

Aliassime is revolving quickly on the tour and has climbed the ranks to the 15th spot in a very short time. He is the favorite to win and can gain confidence from the fact that he beat Murray in the US Open last year in straight sets.

Vbet is offering odds of 1.38 for Aliassime win. The Olympics are played best of three sets and best of five in the final only. We predict over 21.5 total games in the match. The average number of games played by both players is over that number thus we think it is a very probable outcome.
