Ana Ivanovic vs Barbora Strycova. Anna Chakvetadze’s prediction
Ivanovic is traditionally considered the favorite in this match. She looked good in her match against the Romanian, but she’s not feeling well, nor in top form. In the match against Barbora Strycova, Ivanovic can encounter problems. Last week, Ivanovic lost to Vinci, and to some extent Vinci and Strycova mirror the same tennis. Ivanovic does not like it when her opponent is tearing the pace, going to the net. She loves it when there’s a steady rhythm present. Strycova can make curved shots, she’s an unpleasant rival. And the Czech already knows what she needs to do. She just played with Goerges, who plays in the same style as Ivanovic.
Interestingly, though Ivanovic has never played against Strycova, she can have problems because of that. I suggest that the Czech will win at least a set.
