Aarhus v Viborg Betting Tip

Denmark’s top flight is once again underway and the two teams in question here couldn’t have made more contrasting starts to the new campaign. Aarhus got their season off to a decent start with a 2-1 victory over Sonderjyske, whereas Viborg were very disappointing in their 4-0 defeat against Nordsjaelland.

Considering how both sides fared in their opening games it’s not exactly surprising to find Aarhus as red-hot favourites. However, we’re at a very early stage in the season and it would be unreasonable to assume that this will be nothing but a formality for the hosts. After-all, they were beaten, at home, by today’s opponents just three months ago.

Of course Viborg were well beaten by Nordsjaelland last time out, but they shouldn’t be overly disheartened by this and it wouldn’t be the greatest upset if they were to make amends by winning here.

From a betting point of view, in terms of going for a match winner, this is probably too tough to call. However, this does not mean there isn’t a viable bet to be had. At the prices (11/10) ‘Both Teams To Score’ makes plenty of appeal.

Aarhus have both scored and conceded in four of their last five home games (including two friendlies), while Viborg have been involved in a BTTS outcome in three of their last five on the road. Additionally, the last two meetings between these two sides ended with both teams hitting the net. Also, by recording a BTTS percentage of 67% last season (joint highest), Aarhus became a side who made a habit of both scoring and conceding. And if their first match of this season is anything to go by then this could be set to continue.

Having got off to a good start on match-day one, the hosts will be looking to put together a run of form and are likely to try and play on the front foot. Meanwhile, Viborg will be keen to improve on their opening day defeat and, against a side who certainly aren’t the most cautious at the back, could, at the very least, find the net here.
