This summer, BPL teams strengthened their squads, filling them with talented and stellar newcomers who are ready to do battle. We take a look at how the bookies rate the chances of these newcomers getting on the score-sheet on the opening weekend.

The Premier League kicks-off on August 13. There will be seven matches on Saturday, two on Sunday and one on Monday. The 2016/2017 season promises to be one of uncompromising struggle!

The top clubs in England were poor in the transfer market last season, perhaps as poor as they have ever been? but this season things appear to have changes and, with all the big guns splashing the cash, the league is looking stronger than ever.

According to William Hill, the new player with the highest chance of scoring is Manchester City’s Nolito who joined the Citizens from Spanish side Celta Vigo. The odds on the Spain international finding the back of the net against Sunderland this weekend are as low as 10/11.

His teammate, German attacking midfielder Leroy Sane, who left Schalke in order to play under Pep Guardiola at City is also fancied strongly to open his account and can be backed at odds of 6/5.

The odds on Zlatan Ibrahimovic to score in his first Premier League match for Manchester United, in which the Red Devils face Bournemouth are also 6/5. The probability of another newcomer to United, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, scoring is rated at 23/10.

Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi’s chances of scoring for Chelsea in the London derby at home to West Ham are down at 7/5 whilst Andre Ayew, who has joined the Hammers from Swansea City, can be backed at 3/1 to score on debut.

Tottenham Hotspur have provided competition for striker Harry Kane by bringing in Dutchman Vincent Janssen and the odds of the new signing scoring against Everton are 187/100.

Ahmed Musa left CSKA, where he developed from a promising player into a top player, for champions Leicester City. His chances of scoring against newly-promoted Hull City are rated at 2/1.

Finally, Liverpool will travel down to North London to take on Arsenal. New signing Sadio Mane can be backed at 12/5 to find the net on debut, whilst the chances of Dutchman Georginio Wijnaldum, who joined Jurgen Klopp’s side from Newcastle, are rated at 4/1.
