The Gunners celebrated a 2 – 0 victory over the Magpies in the Premier League on Sunday evening to secure three points in their title run.
Odegaard opened the score to give his side the lead over the opponents in the 14th minute of the clash.
Shearer was impressed by the Norway international’s net and included the player in his Premier League Team of the Week for Matchday 35.
“He set the tone for the day and ran the game at his pace. A wonderful goal capped another fantastic display,” the pundit wrote in the Premier League column.
