Why has Oleksandr Zinchenko been ruled out for a season for Arsenal?
Oleksandr Zinchenko and William Saliba have been ruled out for the rest of the season, as per The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
Saliba has been sidelined with a back injury, while Zinchenko suffered a calf injury during the Gunners’ game against Newcastle.
This comes as a blow for Mikel Arteta’s side who currently fight for the Premier League title. Arsenal are second with a point behind league leaders Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
Good news is that neither of the players are expected to require surgery.
🚨 Arsenal defenders William Saliba + Oleksandr Zinchenko out for rest of season. Saliba has not recovered sufficiently from back injury & Zinchenko picked up calf problem at Newcastle. Better news is neither expected to require surgery @TheAthleticFC #AFC https://t.co/hYY55WcnYr
