Wayne Rooney breaks silence after Cristiano Ronaldo’s latest comments about him
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has hit back at his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese star’s latest comments about him.
Rooney had urged Man United to part ways with Ronaldo and sign a younger forward that can take the club forward, explaining that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner isn’t the force he once was.
The former Real Madrid forward hit back at the Englishman during an interview with Pier Morgan Uncensored and said Wayne Rooney is only jealous of his longevity playing career.
Rooney couldn’t care less about Ronaldo’s comments as he said again that Cristiano Ronaldo is only struggling with the fact that his best years are behind him.
“He’s [Cristiano Ronaldo] a fantastic player. Him and Messi are probably the two best players to play the game. It’s not criticism, what I’ve said is age comes to all of us, Cristiano is finding it hard to deal with that,” Rooney told CNN.
“He’s done an interview and it’s gone global, Bit strange some of the comments but I’m sure Manchester United will deal with it once they see the full interview and take whatever action they need to take.”
