Todd Boehly Makes Thomas Tuchel Decision Amid Potter Poor Form

Barely four months of appointing the Ex Brighton coach as Chelsea coach, the rumours of sacking the Englishman following unimpressive run have been trailing the blaze.

Interestingly, it is Thomas Tuchel who claims he has unfinished business at the club that has been tipped by many to be recalled back just four months after his sacking.

Graham Potter was appointed head coach of Chelsea on 8 September 2022, replacing Thomas Tuchel. The 47-year-old joined Chelsea after three successful years at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he had replaced Chris Hughton after the 2018/19 Premier League campaign.

It is undeniable that Sacking Thomas Tuchel and appointing Graham Potter is one of the decisions that were solely influenced by the new Chelsea ownership, many can tell.

Contrary to Tuchel’s immediate positive impact when he replaced Frank Lampard, Graham has been finding it hard to make positive change at the club, many would say he has even been worse than his predecessor.

Currently sitting at the 8th position of EPL table with barely 25 points after 16 games played, 7 points away from top 4 and 18 points of league leaders; many fans have made these stats justifiably enough to call for his sacking.

However, away from his EPL run, the story is quite different at the Champions league as he just finished the top of his group and advanced to riund 16 after Tuchel’s poor stat. At least this has made his principal put some hope in him.

In a closed door meeting after the Nottingham Forest draw on Sunday, Todd Boehley has made some decisions amidst advice of sacking the Englishman and reappointing Tuchel.

Boehly has refused on bringing back Tuchel, he insisted on giving Graham Potter more time to turn things around. Tuchel’s name was mentioned in a meeting and Boehly said ‘NO’.

Boehly has put faith in Potter, and the Englishman can only wish to return the favour by turning things around for good as soon as possible.
