Todd Boehly makes decision on sensational Thomas Tuchel return as pressure mounts on Graham Potter

According to reports, Chelsea’s hierarchy believes Thomas Tuchel’s return is impossible because they continue to support Graham Potter.

Potter is under intense pressure at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Southampton on Saturday left them with just one win in their last ten games.

Chelsea are currently 10th in the Premier League, 11 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, and must overcome a 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund to advance further in the Champions League.

Despite Chelsea’s subpar performances, the club’s board is said to be behind Potter and believes he is the right man for the job.

Chelsea fans have already chanted Tuchel’s name during games this season, with some believing that firing the German in September was the wrong decision.

The Evening Standard, however, reports that Tuchel’s return to Chelsea is ‘impossible’ because the club’s hierarchy ‘grew frustrated’ with how the German worked.

According to the report, Paris Saint-Germain are considering re-appointing Tuchel to replace Christophe Galtier.

Tuchel was fired by PSG just over two years ago, but the French club is now said to be willing to admit their error.

Tuchel, who is currently unemployed after being fired by Chelsea earlier this season, would require assurances before returning to PSG.

Tuchel had a falling out with PSG sporting director Leonardo near the end of his tenure, but he was replaced by Luis Campos last year.

PSG currently leads Ligue 1 by five points, but elimination from the Coupe de France and a defeat in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Bayern Munich last week have added to Galtier’s pressure.
