Things spotted at Arsenal training as Gabriel Jesus is not included

Arsenal had their final training session before flying to Norway to play Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League. and here are the things we noticed during their training.

Gabriel Jesus absent

The Brazilian collided with Kostas Tsimikas against Liverpool but continued playing. Mikel Arteta said after the match, “I don’t know, I haven’t seen the doctor.” They’re checking him. I don’t know what happened, but we’ll assess his condition.

Football. London believes he was resting. Jesus should return this weekend against Leeds United.

Arsenal call up four youngsters

Khayon Edwards has been called up and could replace Gabriel Jesus. The striker just returned from injury and impressed in the under-21s.

Matt Smith is in the first team and could play tomorrow if Arteta sees fit. Bradley Ibrahim trained after being named to the Liverpool squad but didn’t play.

Finally, Cătălin Cîrjan was present. He’s been on the bench in recent Europa League games.

Squad friendship

It’s interesting to see which players train together. It shows squad friendships.

Martin Odegaard, Ben White, and Kieran Tierney led the team. White’s snood was pulled up below his eyes, indicating he was cold.

Granit Xhaka and Cedric Soares followed. The pair are among Mikel Arteta’s most traveled and valuable players.

Ibrahim, Edwards, and Cirjan accompanied one another onto the field. Whilst Matt Smith followed Rob Holding out.

Workshop

Players warmed up by stretching in lanes. First, we played ball.

Two groups were formed. One end of the field had a small goal and a player.

The player at the other end of the coned section passed the ball to the player next to the goal, who headed or passed it to someone to tap into the small net. Moving, passing, touching, and finishing all at once.

Last was Rondos. One player in the middle tried to regain possession while the others had one touch to move the ball away from the defender.
