Real Madrid is reportedly considering making a move to sign Portuguese forward Rafael Leao for a fee of €100 million.

Real Madrid is said to be preparing to launch an offensive to sign Portuguese attacker Rafael Leao, with the player valued at a substantial €100 million by the Spanish club.

Reports from Spanish outlet Fichajes reveal that Rafael Leao remains a top target for the reigning La Liga champions, with AC Milan expecting a hefty sum in exchange for the 23-year-old forward. The Serie A champions will reportedly demand €100 million to part ways with Leao during the summer transfer window.

Since joining AC Milan from LOSC Lille in August 2019, Rafael Leao has established himself as one of the most elite performers in the world. While he experienced some initial difficulties at San Siro, Leao has since emerged as a talismanic figure for the Rossoneri. His impressive performances were instrumental in Milan winning the Serie A title last season.

Despite not being at his best this term, the Portuguese attacker has still managed to contribute to 23 goals. Leao has found the back of the net 11 times while providing 12 assists in 40 appearances so far. His impressive progress has caught the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, AC Milan is keen to retain the services of the 23-year-old and is looking to offer him a new contract. However, if push comes to shove, the Serie A champions may have to consider selling Leao. This is due to the fact that the player’s contract will expire in a little over 12 months, giving potential suitors the impetus to launch an offensive this summer.

According to reports, Real Madrid plans to do exactly that, with the club set to make a move for the talented forward. AC Milan is expected to demand a fee of €100 million to part ways with Leao, which is a higher amount than what some recent reports have suggested.

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will meet this hefty asking price, but if they do, it could prove to be a significant coup for the Spanish giants.
