Rangers have provided an update on their Champions League group stage fixture with Napoli amid the weekend games cancelations.

Rangers

The Gers will face Serie A side in the UCL group stage matchday 2 on Wednesday, September 14.

Giovanni Van Bronckhorst’s side suffered a 4-0 defeat to Ajax in their Champions League group stage opener last week, meanwhile, Napoli celebrated a 4-1 victory over Liverpool.

Ahead of the game, Rangers shared an official statement, which reads: “Rangers can today confirm the upcoming UEFA Champions League match with SSC Napoli at Ibrox has been rescheduled for Wednesday, 14 September at 8 pm.

“This is due to the severe limitations on policing resources and organizational challenges related to the ongoing events surrounding the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

“Rangers, of course, recognise this switch in date will inconvenience a number of our loyal supporters, and refunds will be available to those unable to attend the match.

“Additionally, no away supporters will be present at the match, allowing the club to make additional tickets available to MyGers members as a priority.

“UEFA have also confirmed that as a matter of sporting integrity, no Rangers fans will be permitted to attend the return fixture in Naples.”
