Mikel Arteta reveals why subbed Gabriel Jesus off in half-time against Sporting

Arsenal faced Sporting in the Europa League round of 16 second leg game on Thursday and suffered a defeat on penalties as they were eliminated.
Gabriel Jesus, who has made his return from long-term injury, started from first minutes however he was repalced at half-time.
“Yeah & we decided to do that because we had to manage the subs & thank God that we took him out. That was the plan. We knew the game could go to extra time & we have to manage that & he looked okay,” said Arteta on whether Jesus’ half-time substitution was planned.
