Martin Odegaard sends strong transfer message to Kloop amid Liverpool interest

Martin Odegaard has stated his desire to remain at Arsenal “for several years” and has dismissed the possibility of joining Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

The Arsenal captain has played an important role under Mikel Arteta as the Gunners sit atop the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Klopp has remained a fan of Odegaard since attempting to sign him while at Borussia Dortmund.

Odegaard revealed to Norwegian broadcaster NRK that he supported Liverpool as a child, but that his preference is to stay at Arsenal for as long as possible.

When asked if Liverpool must make a ‘incredibly good offer’ to tempt him to leave Arsenal, Odegaard replied ‘There is not much that can lure me away from here. I’m having a great time here.

‘The way things are now, I can see myself staying here for a long time.

I’d like to do something unique here. Participate in the club’s development and success. That is the ultimate goal. The plan is to stay for quite some time.

‘Over the years, I’ve moved a lot. It’s a good feeling to land a little and feel like I’m in a place where I’m going to be. I hope to be here for a long time.

‘From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home. Everything was very natural, and I was very well received. I felt like I was a part of the team and the group from the beginning, so coming here felt great.

‘There are some very nice people in the club. People who genuinely care about you and want you to succeed. Who goes out of their way to help you succeed? And who, I believe, have some of the same drive as I do to improve and work on things. Right away, it was a good match.’

Odegaard is smart enough to recognize that his match against Arsenal is a match made in heaven. He should not be duped by any team attempting to lure him into obscurity on the bench.

Odegaard’s style of play complements Arsenal’s, and vice versa. He shone like a million stars last night, delivering 110% MOTM. Arsenal could achieve great things if Arteta and Edu recruit well. The club has the potential to grow.
