Manchester United vs Omonia: Predicted starting lineup, team news – Europa League
Manchester United will welcome Omonia at Old Trafford on Thursday night in what would be their fourth group stage game in the Europa League this season.
Man United are unbeaten in their last two matches after last two weekends’ 6-3 thrashing to Manchester City following wins over Omonia and Everton in the Europa League and Premier League respectively.
The Red Devils will look to build on from last weekend’s tight 2-1 win over the Toffees when they host Omonia at the Theatre of Dreams tomorrow night.
Erik ten Hag is expected to weaken the side that beat Frank Lampard’s side on Sunday when they host Omonia and according to Man Utd Times‘ suggestion, both Fred and Scott McTominay are likely to start.
The reason behind this claim is because McTominay will miss this weekend’s home game against Newcastle United due to one-match suspension after he received his fifth booking in his eighth game at Everton. While Fred was an unused substitute against Everton, hence he’s fully energised to make them runs against the Cypriot side.
This would result in Casemiro and Christian Eriksen taking the bench roles as Ten Hag would rather have the pair, who impressed against Everton, fully energised for what would be a tricky game against the Magpies, who won their last two games 4-1 each.
Predicted Starting Lineup
Goalkeeper: David de Gea
Defenders: Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia
Midfielders: Scott McTominay, Fred, Bruno Fernandes
Forwards: Jadon Sancho, Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford

Anthony Martial is increasingly likely to miss the game, even if he’s fit. The France star came off injured in the first half against Everton. Ten Hag said Martial came off with a back injury. Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been out injured. Harry Maguire is expected to miss the game as well, having missed three games on a bounce already.
Raphael Varane returned from a foot injury last weekend and made a late cameo against Everton. He’s likely to start against Omonia in a bid to build his fitness that could see him return to the starting lineup against Newcastle United.
Donny van de Beek is still out injured with a muscle injury.
