Cristiano Ronaldo has made a huge claim about Erik ten Hag and Manchester United have responded.

Manchester United have reportedly distanced themselves from commenting on Cristiano Ronaldo’s claim that Erik ten Hag and other chiefs want him out of the club during an interview with Piers Morgan.

Man United re-signed Ronaldo from Juventus last season for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but his transfer would rather cause division in the team and thwart the progress the club was making under the Norwegian.

Solskjaer got sacked in less than two months after Ronaldo’s resigning and his temporary replacement Ralf Rangnick didn’t live up to the expectations and led United to their worst Premier League season in recent decades as Manchester United finished 6th with zero goal difference.

Cristiano Ronaldo attempted to leave Man United over the summer after the Red Devils finished outside the top four but he was short of options, and as a result, he was forced to stay out and work with Erik ten Hag.

His experience under the Dutchman hasn’t been fair to him, although the former Ajax manager regularly says in press that he remains an important player in his squad.

Ronaldo has now suggested that Erik ten Hag has been lying to the fans, insisting that the Dutchman and three other chiefs want him out of the club.

Speaking to Piers Morgan, the 37-year-old said:

“Yes [I feel like I’m being forced out], by not only the coach [Erik ten Hag], but two or three guys around the club [senior executives].

“Yes, I feel betrayed. I felt that some people, they don’t want me here – not only this year, but last year too.”

However, Telegraph journalist James Ducker has claimed that the club has decided against reacting to Ronaldo’s claim as they wouldn’t want to be distracted from their tight 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday evening in the Premier League.

Ducker tweeted: “No comment from #MUFC tonight on Ronaldo’s accusations and claims. Sources indicating United won’t allow the interview to take anything away at their end from the win at Fulham and the spirit and togetherness the squad and fans showed.”

Manchester United head into the break with a win over Fulham on Sunday evening in the Premier League.

Christian Eriksen and Alejandro Garnacho were United’s two goalscorers.
