Atalanta, initially holding out for €90 million, had to eventually settle for the €85 million package presented by Manchester United, making it a significant coup for the English club. Erik ten Hag, Manchester United’s manager, has been actively seeking a new frontman to bolster his attacking options, and Hojlund’s signing appears to be the ideal solution to the club’s striking needs.
Hojlund, who joined Atalanta only last summer from Austrian side Sturm Graz in a deal worth around £15 million, has rapidly risen through the ranks, showcasing his potential and becoming a highly sought-after prospect in European football.
