Liverpool share statement on European Super League
European Super League first announced its plans back in 2021, however, the competition was blocked after fan protests and the decision from UEFA and FIFA.
The competition surfaced once again on Thursday, December 22, when it was announced by European Court of Justice (ECJ) that both UEFA and FIFA acted against competition law.
Amid the developments, Liverpool have become another side to share a statement on the tournament.
The statement reads: “Yesterday’s ruling by the European Court of Justice does not change Liverpool FC’s previous stance on a proposed European Super League. Our involvement has been discontinued.
“We will continue to work with fellow clubs through the ECA and participate in UEFA competitions.”
