Liverpool had Rafinha on their shortlist as they searched for a midfield signing
Liverpool wanted to sign Rafinha Alcantara in the last few days of the summer transfer window.
According to Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano, the Brazil international was dreaming about the possibility of playing for Anfield’s side and linking up with his brother Thiago Alcantara.
“Liverpool signed Arthur on a loan deal in the last hours of the window, but the Reds explored many possibilities. I can tell you that one of the names on the list was Rafinha from PSG, but he joined Al-Arabi the Qatari club, so he decided to go for a different experience.
He was one of the players on the list at Liverpool and he was dreaming of the possibility to play with his brother Thiago Alcantara,” Romano said.
