In his post-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp has acknowledged that Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate had a subpar passing performance during their game against Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has highlighted the passing struggles of defender Ibrahima Konate following his side’s recent fixture against Nottingham Forest.

In his post-match press conference, the German tactician admitted that the Frenchman’s display wasn’t one of his finest, stating that Forest’s tactical setup placed a greater onus on the 23-year-old’s ability to distribute effectively.

Klopp remarked, “It gave Ibou a lot of moments on the ball, and at the beginning, he didn’t use it that well. Ibou had a lot of time and space and that’s the next thing, if an opponent is doing that, how can we help Ibou to use these moments slightly better? It’s early days with that kind of system so we’ll have to work on that. That’s what we’ll do.”

Despite starting in his ninth consecutive match for the Reds, Konate, who is still learning his trade, made a couple of costly errors during the match, further underlining the need for continued development and improvement from the talented defender.
