Jorginho’s Agent Discloses Barcelona Transfer Stance Amid Doubtful Chelsea Future
Blues’ midfielder, Jorginho has his Chelsea contract left with just few months before it expires and with the club yet to renew, it’s likely he could use the exit door as a free agent on June 2023.
Since his arrival from Napoli, the 30-year-old has managed to phase into the Chelsea squad as one of the important midfielders, providing a good combo with N’Golo Kante who as well has his contract unrenewed.
According to 90min, Chelsea are actually considering a renewal for both players but the wage decision that would suit them is still a factor delaying the offer.
Speculations are already ramping up around the players, forcing Jorginho’s agent to finally disclose his client’s stance on the Barcelona transfer rumors.
Speaking on Tuesday, he said; “I have never met with [Barcelona director] Mateu Alemany.
“Our priority is the renewal with Chelsea. The only club I have spoken to in recent weeks is Chelsea.”
Jorginho started on Wednesday night for Blues as he marked his 204 appearance across all competition for the English team, netting 29 times of which 90% of these are from the penalty spot, being the team’s best taker.
