It’s Weird That They Have Me But Don’t Copy – Cristiano Ronaldo Sends Wake-Up Call To Man United Youngsters
The 37-year-old is no doubt the hardest worker when professional football is mentioned and according to his comments, he still maintains that hardworking spirit despite going down in age.
Surely, we won’t get the young Ronaldo we knew but with the level of hard-work he puts in, we could actually get something close. The Portuguese is shocked that the young players don’t copy his hard-work at United yet.
Speaking with Morgan, Ronaldo has appeared to have sent wake-up calls to the young players at United as his exit looms.
“It doesn’t surprise me, but in the same way it’s a little bit of a shame because if they have the best examples in front of your eyes, and if they don’t at least copy what you did, for me, it’s kind of weird,” Ronaldo said.
“I remember when I was 18, 19, 20, I always looked to see the best players – van Nistelrooy, Ferdinand, Roy Keane, and Giggs. This is why I have the success that I have and longevity.
“I’m not the kind of guy who likes to give advice as I prefer to be an example. I’m there every morning and do the same stuff. I’m probably the first one to arrive and the last one to go out. I think the details speak for itself.”
Ronaldo added on the younger Manchester United players with the best mentality:
“Diogo Dalot, he’s young, but he’s very, very, professional. I have no doubt he’s going to have longevity in football. Also, probably Martinez.”
