Thiago Silva has gone to become an important member of the Chelsea squad since his free transfer from PSG back in 2020.
The 38-year-old has already made 93 appearances for Chelsea and according to words from his wife, he could be aiming for 150 games before he retires from football.
With his most appearances for Chelsea coming last season when he made 32 Premier League appearances under Thomas Tuchel, Silva has already made 11 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea so far this season.
Silva’s contract runs out by summer of 2023 and his wife has stated they are keen on remaining with the West Londoners. where Silva could most likely be ending his football career.
“We don’t have any plans to leave Chelsea because we’re really enjoying it here and Thiago still has a contract,” the Brazilian woman said.
Following the nature of Chelsea’s renewal terms for players in their 30s, it’s understandable that Silva will be getting a year extension deal should Chelsea decide on retaining him.
The Blues managed a 2-0 victory against Aston Villa on Sunday with Thiago Silva also helping out at the defense line while super performance from Kepa Arrizabalaga helped save the day.
