Ghana’s AFCON 2023 came to an end early in the tournament as they failed to qualify from the group stages.
The Black Stars finished 3rd in Group B with just 2 points. They played 2-2 draws with Mozambique and Egypt and suffered a defeat to Cape Verde with a 2-1 score.
Despite their participation being cut short, Ghana received a $700,000 consolation prize after finishing third in their group.
Meanwhile the winner of the tournament, Ivory Coast, were granted $7 million prize money.
