How Manchester United Ruined Arsenal Easy Chance of Getting Mudryk
According to reports, Manchester United may have unintentionally jeopardized Arsenal’s chances of signing Ukrainian midfielder Mykhaylo Mudryk this month.
Arsenal have made Mudryk their top target in the transfer window and have already had one bid rejected by Shakhtar Donetsk, with their second offer, worth approximately £62m, also expected to be turned down. Shakhtar has reportedly valued Mudryk at £88m, which Arsenal views as too expensive.
The London club is still optimistic that an agreement can be reached at a lower price, but if not, United’s signing of Antony for £86m last summer may be the cause. Shakhtar has claimed that Mudryk is a better player than Antony and therefore deserves the same valuation.
Chelsea has also expressed interest in Mudryk and has the financial capability to outbid Arsenal. Mudryk has expressed his desire to join Arsenal, but Shakhtar remains firm on their asking price.
