Chelsea manager Graham Potter was pleased with his side’s performance that yielded a resounding victory over Wolves in the Premier League.

Chelsea sealed a comfortable victory over struggling Wolves at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and Graham Potters was pleased with his side’s performance.

The Blues broke the deadlock just before half-time after Kai Havertz finished off what was a decent team play by Chelsea. And they deservedly led 1-0 at half-time.

Although the visiting side attempted to fight back into the game in the second half as they showed more intensity, unlike their momentum in the first half, Chelsea handled the pressure calmly and went on to score two more goals to beat the Wanderers 3-0 at home, thanks to goal scorers Armando Broja and Christian Pulisic.

The goals may look easy but the manager has suggested that as a matter of fact, they weren’t and also claimed that he felt disappointed as his side didn’t get the breakthrough earlier than they did.

‘It wasn’t easy, that’s for sure,’ Potter told Chelsea official website. ‘These games never are in the Premier League, especially when we played on Wednesday in a big game. To recover and to prepare was not straightforward but we’ve got a really good group that are committed, that are together, that are fighting for each other, so it’s positive.

‘I thought we played well in the first half. Disappointed maybe not to score a bit earlier than we did, but I think the goal was important when it came.

‘Then credit to Wolves, I thought they started the second half well and we had to adjust a little bit, scored at the right time, and maybe that’s the bit of breathing space you need in the game.

‘Then for Armando to finish off is great for us, but it wasn’t a straightforward game, we had to fight for it and credit to the boys they did that.’

The 3-0 win over Wolves has put Chelsea in the 4th position with 16 points from eight matches and are four points behind 3rd place Tottenham, who have played a game more.

Chelsea’s next game will take place in Italy next week when they play visitors to AC Milan in the Champions League. The Blues won the reverse fixture 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
