Erik ten Hag was pleased with Marcus Rashford’s performance against Burnley on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.

Erik ten Hag believes Marcus Rashford was a ‘constant’ threat as Manchester United beat Burnley comfortably in the Carabao Cup fourth round.

Man United reached the Carabao Cup quarter-final after they beat Burnley 2-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Christian Eriksen opened the scoring in the first half after he got on the end of a beautiful cross from Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Halfway through the second half, Marcus Rashford doubled United’s lead following a brilliant solo goal.

The England international may have started on the right-wing, a position he doesn’t commonly play at his best, but his performance against the Championship side was a top-notch and Ten Hag believed he was a constant threat to Vincent Kompany’s team.

Speaking after the win, the Dutchman said: “I think he [Marcus Rashford] was a constant threat, playing on the back line on the back four, he’s so dangerous with his pace, dribbles, an out ball.

“I think he [Rashford] is on a very good level, his performances are improving a lot from game to game.

“He’s a continued threat but also many other games this season he’s scored a lot of goals and does a lot of defending work.”
