Erik ten Hag gives update on Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has issued updates on Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez ahead of the Nottingham Forest clash on Tuesday.
Man United are back in Premier League action on Tuesday when they host Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford and they could be without some of their key players.
The Red Devils continued from where they left off with a comfortable 2-0 win over Burnley last week in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Harry Maguire missed the game due to an illness. Martinez and Varane missed the game because of their World Cup holiday.
However, the duo are increasingly likely to miss the game against Nottingham Forest after Ten Hag confirmed that they haven’t returned to Carrington.
Speaking ahead of the game, Ten Hag said: “The World Cup players are back [apart from Raphaеl Varane and Lisandro Martínez] and you can feel their energy and that they are excited. They are looking forward to [the Premier League] resuming.
“Harry Maguire was back on the training ground on Friday so I’m happy about that. Rapha Varane and Licha Martinez aren’t back yet but hopefully they’ll be back soon.”
