According to a recent report from Football Insider, it appears that Kalidou Koulibaly is eager to leave Chelsea this summer. The Senegal international, who spent just one year in the English Premier League, is reportedly keen on returning to Serie A.

In recent developments, Kalidou Koulibaly has emerged as a player eager to depart Chelsea during the upcoming summer transfer window. Citing insider sources, Football Insider reports that the highly-regarded Senegal international is keen on making a return to Serie A, following a single season stint in the English Premier League.

Upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge last year, Koulibaly was hailed as one of Europe’s most accomplished and seasoned center-backs, having completed a £38 million move from Napoli. Regrettably, the 31-year-old has struggled to acclimate to the relentless tempo of the Premier League, failing to fulfill the lofty expectations that accompanied his transfer.

The latest reports suggest that Koulibaly’s lackluster spell in England could prompt a reunion with his former stomping ground, albeit not at Napoli. While a return to Naples appears improbable at present, the center-back has reportedly attracted the attention of Inter Milan, the recently crowned Champions League finalists. The Nerazzurri are believed to be interested in securing the services of the African defender, as they gear up for the upcoming season. Furthermore, there have been murmurs of a potential swap deal, with Chelsea eyeing Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, thus further intensifying the transfer speculation.

During his debut season in London, Koulibaly, who still has up to four years remaining on his current contract, has made 32 appearances across all competitions. Impressively, he has directly contributed to three goals, showcasing his ability to contribute in both defensive and offensive phases of play.
