Cristiano Ronaldo admits he’s not friends with Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville
Cristiano Ronaldo officially confirmed that he’s not friends with Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville during his interview with Piers Morgan.
Ronaldo shared the same pitch and dressing room as Neville and Rooney during his first spell at Man United but both former England internationals have part of the Portuguese star’s critics.
Rooney and Neville have both urged Erik ten Hag to offload the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and bring in younger players who they can build the team around.
Rooney has always maintained that Ronaldo is no longer the force he once was and as a result, he no longer presses the way Ten Hag wants, hence making United’s attack blunt.
The former Derby County manager also said on talkSPORT that Cristiano Ronaldo is a distraction that Manchester United don’t need.
Gary Neville is partly in agreement with Wayne Rooney, as he believes Man United play well as a team without Ronaldo in it.
When asked by Piers Morgan if both Englishmen are his friends, Ronaldo said: “No, they are not my friends.
“It’s easy to criticise. I don’t know if they must criticise to be more famous.”
Cristiano Ronaldo also accused the Glazers family of running Manchester United as a marketing club and has zero cares about the club as a football club.
The Portuguese star would go on to claim that Erik ten Hag and three other executives are trying to force him out of the Theatre of Dreams.
