In a recent transfer, the team completed the loan acquisition of Portuguese sensation Joao Felix from Spanish club Atletico Madrid for a period of six months. The 23-year-old offensive midfielder was a highly sought-after transfer target, with interest shown by both Manchester United and Arsenal. Felix reportedly had a disagreement with Diego Simeone, the manager of Atletico Madrid, which led to his move to Stamford Bridge.

Felix became the third-most expensive player in football history in 2019 when he transferred to Atletico Madrid for a sum of over £110 million. He has since made over 130 appearances for the La Liga team and has scored 34 goals in total. He has played in 14 league games this season alone, scoring four goals.
