Casemiro believes Erik ten Hag is a great manager, who always wants to win, and believes the Dutchman is doing a great job at Manchester United.

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has heaped praise on Erik ten Hag, describing him as a great manager, who wants to win.

Man United appointed Ten Hag as their new permanent manager following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November last year and unsuccessfully short-term reign of Ralf Rangnick.

The Dutchman started poorly in his Old Trafford career, losing his opening two games against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford but steadied the ship with four Premier League wins on a bounce.

Ten Hag has now won eight of his last ten matches in all competitions including wins of Liverpool and Arsenal in the league and two wins over Omonia in the Europa League.

The Dutchman will look to make it four wins on a bounce against Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon and Casemiro has nothing but specials words for the former Ajax boss.

“I believe it’s his desire to win, his ambition and hard work. Not just him, all the coaching staff. They always want to win, they never get complacent. They’re always looking to do something new, always wanting to make a difference,” Casemiro said.

“I believe Manchester United have a great manager, it was there to see at Ajax, I think he’s doing a good job here. It’s a diverse group of players, different players, I believe we’ll adapt to his style of play.

“Every manager has their own way of playing, their own way of leading. I’ve worked with [Carlo] Ancelotti and [Zinedine] Zidane, they are managers that want to win, which is the most important thing.

“Hard work and dedication, being intensely dedicated to the club, I think winning is a consequence of this – doing things right is essential.”

Casemiro is likely to start for Manchester United on Sunday against Newcastle United, having started three matches in a row.
