Reports suggest that Chelsea is already convinced to sign Joao Felix on a permanent deal in the summer, leaving Arsenal and other clubs to miss out on the Atletico Madrid star.

Football Club is reportedly set to make a significant signing in the summer, with Joao Felix of Atletico Madrid firmly on their radar.

The Blues are said to be extremely impressed with the Portuguese international’s performances, despite his limited time with the west London club.

Felix, who joined Chelsea on a short-term loan deal in January, has shown tremendous promise in his brief stint so far, with his most recent outing including a goal in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against West Ham. Despite being shown a straight red card in his debut against Fulham, the 23-year-old has continued to make a positive impact in the team.

According to reports , Chelsea is now keen on making Felix’s stay permanent, with the club prepared to go all out to secure his services. It’s believed that the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, who were also linked with the young star, will miss out on his signature.

Furthermore, Chelsea’s pursuit of Felix is a clear indication of their intention to spend big once again in the summer transfer window. The club has already spent over £500m on transfers in the last two windows combined, and a permanent deal for Felix would only add to this expenditure.

Although a permanent transfer may prove costly, Chelsea is evidently not shying away from making significant investments. The club’s owner, Todd Boehly, has reportedly given his full backing to the deal, and Felix could potentially become one of the most expensive signings in Chelsea’s history.

As for Arsenal, it appears that the club has missed out on the opportunity to sign Felix on loan. However, given the Gunners’ current requirements, investing in a wide-attacker like Leandro Trossard was a more practical choice than a central forward like Felix.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Felix is a clear statement of intent from the club, as they seek to build a squad capable of challenging for multiple titles in the years to come. With the American owner and manager Graham Potter at the helm, the Blues appear to be setting their sights high.
