Barcelona dealt another injury blow as defender faces five-week absence with hamstring tear

Barcelona’s hopes of finishing the season on a high note have been dealt another blow, with the news that Sergi Roberto has picked up a hamstring injury during their match against Getafe on Saturday.

The injury occurred in the first half, as the player attempted to pass the ball, and despite his efforts to play through the pain, he was eventually forced to leave the field.

Barcelona earlier announced that the defender had picked up a left hamstring injury.

The loss of Roberto is a significant blow to Barcelona, who are already dealing with multiple injury concerns.

This latest setback adds to the growing list of injury concerns for Barcelona, who have struggled to keep key players fit throughout the season. Ousmane Dembele and Pedri are among those who have missed significant periods of time due to injuries, with both players suffering relapses in training.

With just a month and a half left in the season, Roberto may be able to return in time for the final games, but the club will be hoping for a swift recovery as they look to finish the season strongly.

In the meantime, Eric Garcia will be expected to fill in at the heart of the defence, alongside Ronald Araujo, with Jules Kounde likely to shift to right-back.
