Arteta Responds Bluntly to Henry’s Worry About Arsenal
Arsenal’s hopes of ending their 18-year wait for a Premier League title have been questioned by club legend Thierry Henry.
The Gunners face Manchester City in a pivotal fixture that could potentially decide the destination of the title. City currently have a game in hand and are four points behind Arsenal.
Speaking to CBS Sports, Henry stated that Arsenal’s emotional approach to the game was a cause for concern. “You don’t win a title on emotions – you win cups – because it’s one game, then one game. Thirty-eight games – you can’t be too emotional about it, but you’ve seen recently how emotional we’ve been. So far, we were not expected to be there.”
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, when asked about Henry’s comments, responded with a succinct “I don’t know, it’s just an opinion.”
Arsenal’s task is not made any easier by the fact that City have the luxury of a weekend off from Premier League duty, with an FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United to look forward to. Meanwhile, Arsenal must focus on their upcoming game against bottom-of-the-table side, Southampton.
