Arsenal Receives Major Injury Boost: Star Player Primed for Rapid Comeback
Arsenal’s latest acquisition, Declan Rice, has handed the club a much-needed injury update following his premature exit during Sunday’s showdown with Tottenham Hotspur.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who had complained of a back issue, was substituted for Jorginho with the score level at 1-1, owing to an own goal by Spurs’ Cristian Romero and a strike from their captain, Son Heung-min.
Arsenal managed to regain the lead thanks to Bukayo Saka’s precise penalty, but Son struck again to level the score after Jorginho lost possession. After the game, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta acknowledged Rice’s discomfort and expressed concerns about a possible spell on the sidelines.
Fortunately, according to the BBC, subsequent tests have alleviated those worries, confirming that the England international did not sustain any significant damage.
This news bodes well for Arsenal, as Rice will miss the Carabao Cup clash with Brentford but could be back in contention for their Premier League match against Bournemouth on Saturday. This development will surely come as a relief to both Arteta and Arsenal fans, who were understandably concerned about the extent of Rice’s injury after his early exit from the derby.
