This game is quite evenly matched, Everton have some big injuries in midfield (McCarthy, Barry) and, as usual, Robles will come in for Howard between the sticks. Middlesbrough are second in the Championship and, clearly, that’s a priority. The home crowd are on a bit of a high after back-to-back Boro wins, but expectations are low given it’s the League Cup. I think we’ll see quite a wide open game, with Everton pushing on and Boro looking to hit on the counter. The Toffees have been scoring freely of late – they’ve been shut out just once in the last ten games and have scored 14 in the past four. Over 3,5 goals is available with Ladbrokes at 3,5. I also like both teams to score and Everton win at 4,75.
