Wolves might not be in the most flattering of league positions currently, but it would appear that Paul Lambert is slowly but surely turning their fortunes around. The West Midlands club are in a rich vein of form right now, winning each of their last four, scoring plenty of goals in the process.

In contrast to their hosts, Nottingham Forest haven’t exactly been thriving of late and are still very much flirting with relegation as they sit just two points above the drop-zone in 20th position.

From a betting point of view, this match makes plenty of appeal as a relatively high-scorer. Wolves look to have every chance of continuing their fine scoring form, while neither of this pair are strangers to goal-filled matches. ‘Wolves to Score Over 1.5 Goals’ and ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ are the two angles of attack.

As touched on above, Wolves are certainly a side who’re improving, and part of that improvement has been in front of goal. Lambert’s men have scored eight goals in their last four matches, scoring at least twice in three of those. Their recent performances have showcased plenty of attacking quality, with the likes of the industrious Andreas Weimann and the silky Hélder Costa thriving in particular. Against a Forest team who’ve been lacking at the back all season, the hosts can continue to thrive from a forward perspective.

Form on the road has largely eluded Nottingham Forest this season. The Reds have lost a sizable 13 of their 20 away matches, conceding 38 goals in the process. With just three clean sheets on their travels during the campaign so far, Forest really have had problems at the back. On top of this, the visitors have conceded at least twice in no less than 14 of their 20 fixtures away from home.

‘Over 2.5 Goals’ has landed in 53% of Wolves’ matches in the Championship this season and in 62% of Nottingham Forest’s.

With the way things have been going for these two of late, it’s hard to see a defence that has become renowned for conceding goals keeping out a team who’ve been really enjoying themselves going forward; however, despite their attacking improvements, the hosts aren’t necessarily the safest at the back and, therefore, a goal-filled game looks on the cards.
