Wolves have endured a disappointing season which has seen them languish in midtable with no hope of making the play-off places. Selling their top goalscorer Benik Afobe in January as well as numerous injuries in the striking department means their forward line is very stale. They particularly have problems scoring at home and have not netted at Molineux for four matches (almost two months!). There have been questions over the signing of Joe Mason from Cardiff in January as he has so far not cut the mustard, leading to suspicions that manager Kenny Jackett did not want him in the first place.
Sheffield Wednesday have already secured a play-off place in what has been an excellent campaign for the Owls. Wednesday will bring over 4000 fans to Molineux who will be in the mood to party and will want to make sure they enter the play-off campaign with good momentum. Manager Carlos Carvalhal has suggested that he will make changes but this could purely be mind games. If he were to rotate his squad, then incoming players will want to prove to their boss that they have what it takes to play in the difficult play-off fixtures.
Overall, Wolves have petered out badly this season and can not seem to buy a goal at home. Sheffield Wednesday on the other hand will be looking to continue their recent unbeaten run into the play-off campaign.
