My unlucky streak of predictions continues – all four of my last bets failed. The same results were shared by a famous British blogger Snooker-backer, as he also predicted Ebdon, Murphy, Bressel and Selby would win. By the way, for today he predicts the wins of Ford, Maguire, Gould and Higgins. But a lot of the bookmakers showed players who lost as favourites. That’s why a lot of betting offices are now rubbing their hands together.
The tournemant continues with four games on Thursday.
Liang Wenbo (29) – Tom Ford (52) – Starting here I’ll put each players ranking in brackets. Their face-to-face score is 2:0. Liang has previously reached the final of ranking tournament while Tom has made it to the semi-final with two wins in the PTC. Wenbo has previously enjoyed wins against Allen, Robertson and Trump. Ford has in the past defeated Donaldson, Williams and Wilson. The odds are 1.67 vs 2.20 and they sound about right to me.
Neil Robertson (3) – Steven Maguire (15). Their face-to-face score is 7:11 with the advantage going to the Scott. Their wins on the ranking tournaments are as follows – Robertson 10 and Maguire 5. The odds are 1.44 vs 2.75. I see their chances as being equal. Neil is the favourite but it is not evident.
Martin Gould (24) – Joe Swail (58). Their face-to-face score is 1:2. And both of their third games were important: Martin defeated Allen and Joe defeated Holt. The odds are 1.40 vs 3.00 and I can’t disagree with them.
John Higgins (7) – Jamie Burnett (44). John has bested Jamie in all their eight face-to-face games. We all know about the progress of both players. The odds 1.22 vs 4.20 speak for themselves.
So I want to pick an accumulator with combining Wenbo’s victory and a Higgins win with a handicap. I would also recommend a bet on over 8.5 in Robertson-Maguire game. Plus I want to strengthen the odds with the bet on Higgins. May be this will make my predictions more accurate. Or maybe I should bet on Gould? After My unlucky streak I can’t be so sure. You have to decide this one by yourselves.
